James W. Young’s passion in the death care industry began as a young man working for a relative’s successful funeral home. A native of West Virginia, Jim spent his adolescent years assisting in his family’s grocery store in Clendenin, WV. Jim relocated to Florida in 1982 after high school graduation. He graduated Miami Dade School of Mortuary Science in 1985 and began his career at Fred Hunter’s Funeral Home where he served his internship. With the knowledge and dedication of a business owner, Jim opened Young & Prill Funeral Homes, established in 1992 in Port Saint Lucie, Stuart and Sebastian, FL. In 2001, Jim founded the Seawinds Funeral Group serving Brevard, Indian River, St. Lucie, Martin, Okeechobee and Palm Beach Counties. He is a current partner of Boyd Panciera Family Funeral Care in Hollywood and Pembroke Pines, FL. Jim has guided many young funeral directors with his professionalism, knowledge of various funeral customs and management. Jim was a past President of the Tri County Funeral Directors Association, past president of the Jensen Beach Kiwanis and former board member of the Jensen Beach Chamber of Commerce. Jim and his wife, Timea, enjoy traveling and attending Miami Dolphin Football games. Jim has 2 beautiful daughters and a beloved son.

Timea is a native of Hungary who immigrated to the United States in 2006 and later became a citizen. Timea developed a passion for the funeral industry at a young age and was eager to start work in a funeral home when she came to America. She began working in a local funeral home where she met her husband, Jim. Together they have served many families in the area. Timea is dedicated to helping families through the most difficult time in their lives. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter and volunteering at the local Catholic church.

Mark Panciera is an accomplished business owner, community leader, and entrepreneur. Applying his

systems, educational institutions, non-profits and athletes achieving extraordinary results.
Mark began his career by joining the family business in 1984 as a third-generation funeral director and
bereavement care professional. He purchased the Panciera Memorial Homes in 1993, growing the
company four-fold, along with establishing Funeraria Panciera to serve the multi-cultural needs of South
Florida as well as launching The Memorial Stores, a network of retail funeral locations, the first of its kind
in the country. These initiatives resulted in significant company success, still thriving today. As
demonstrated by this expansion, Panciera predicted and responded to market trends by creating
innovative brands and services designed to meet customer needs.
A well-recognized TED Talk presenter (1.5MM views), award-winning speaker, and author, Panciera is
frequently asked to share his insights and experience, appearing on ABC’s Wall Street Journal Report,
CNBC, and CBC. Additionally, he is a trusted media resource and has been quoted in Forbes, the New
York Times, Miami Herald, and Fort Lauderdale Sun Sentinel, with feature articles in USA Today and Inc.

Having a strong commitment to public service, Mark has served on numerous association boards and has
been the recipient of several recognitions and awards for his extraordinary service to many groups and
causes.
Panciera earned a BA in Business Administration from the University of South Florida and an MBA from
Florida Atlantic University. He resides in South Florida with his wife Tiffany who oversees their funeral
home operations and has three highly accomplished adult children.
Steven A. Gerhardt is a licensed Funeral Director with 38 years of professional experience dedicated to serving families with compassion and integrity. A 1987 graduate of Canton University with a degree in Mortuary Science and Business, Steven has managed multiple funeral homes and held the position of Director of Operations in Niagara Falls, New York.
During his 12-year tenure as one of four County Coroners in Niagara County, Steven developed extensive expertise in death investigation and funeral service operations. He also served as a Mortuary Officer with DMORT under FEMA, where he was deployed as a Funeral Director and Grief Counselor in response to Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
Driven by a passion for cultural understanding and diverse funeral traditions, Steven has practiced his profession in a variety of locations, including Key West, Hawaii, Alaska, Washington State, and the Cayman Islands.
Now residing in Florida, Steven has been licensed in the state for the past 15 years. He enjoys being part of a close-knit community and is an active member of the Kiwanis Club. Outside of his professional life, Steven is a proud father of four adult children, two sons and two daughters, and a devoted grandfather to four grandchildren.
With decades of experience and an unwavering commitment to compassionate care, Steven continues to serve families with professionalism, respect, and heartfelt support in their time of need.
Brian is a native of the upper Ohio Valley of West Virginia. He is a proud Army veteran who honorably served with the 463rd Engineering Battalion. After completing his funeral service education at The Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science in 1996. and becoming a National Board-Certified director, he achieved licensure as a funeral director and embalmer in Florida, West Virginia, North Carolina and Pennsylvania, as well as a licensed pre-need insurance agent in Florida. Brian has served families through the funeral industry in all capacities, from being an owner/ operator of his own chapel, to being a partner, manager and director for several corporate and family-owned firms in his 30 years of service of those in need.
Brian looks at the profession as a point of personal ministry, a true privilege, to serve families in need at the most difficult times with compassion, knowledge, and professional diligence.
